30 Seconds Away: Breaking the Cycle tells the story of men experiencing chronic homelessness, exploring
who they are, how they got there, and the challenges they face as they struggle to change. The film examines the unique
relationship between homelessness and the justice system, offering perspective from judges, advocates and homeless men themselves.
We follow officers from Milwaukee Police Department’s newly formed Homeless Outreach Team
as they take their specialized training to the streets. We watch one man journey towards housing
while another man strives to stay underground. As the scales tip in this precariously balanced
struggle for survival, we discover who is 30 Seconds Away.
USPS follows Mr. Montegomery, a shift manager at the United States Post Office, as he provides a brief tour of the Milwaukee District Post Office facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This short documentary, directed and produced by Jessica Farrell and produced by Faith Kohler,premiered at the 2013 Milwaukee Film Festival on at the Oriental Theatre. The short film also screened at the 2013 Beloit International Film Festival in Beloit, Wisconsin.
