30 Seconds Away: Breaking the Cycle

30 SECONDS AWAY: BREAKING THE CYCLE

30 Seconds Away: Breaking the Cycle tells the story of men experiencing chronic homelessness, exploring
who they are, how they got there, and the challenges they face as they struggle to change. The film examines the unique
relationship between homelessness and the justice system, offering perspective from judges, advocates and homeless men themselves.
We follow officers from Milwaukee Police Department’s newly formed Homeless Outreach Team
as they take their specialized training to the streets. We watch one man journey towards housing
while another man strives to stay underground. As the scales tip in this precariously balanced
struggle for survival, we discover who is 30 Seconds Away.
